People who know me know that I am not big on "conventional" medicine (prefer homeopathics, no vaccinations, raw feeding), so if I can recommend Yaletown Pet Hospital - they must be pretty amazing to have impressed me. And they have a vet trained in homeopathy on staff, so they are quite respectful and accepting of us "alternative" medicine types. I do not "trust" easily, however after our appointment with Dr. Roxanne Vandermeer, I felt confident in her abilities and her genuine love and compassion for animals. There's certainly nothing wrong with making money - but you have to LOVE the animals first and foremost - and they do. The vet tech who assisted Dr. V was Amber Lloyd - simply the kindest, sweetest person you will ever meet (even if she is a black belt in martial arts!) and she watched over Minnie like a hawk! Minnie (10 year old chinese hairless crested girl) is quite a fearful dog and generally doesn't like or trust people or other animals, but she was very relaxed being checked over and (wo)man-handled by these 2 fine ladies. So, now that I had Minnie's seal of approval, I booked the appointment for dental surgery for the very next day. Everything went exceptionally well and they called me when Minnie was ready to go home. They took the time to review how everything went and exactly what was done and scheduled a followup appointment. Minnie's recovery was very fast and by that evening, she was eating and back to her crazy, loveable self. I was very, very pleased to say the least.
So, if you are looking for a really great vet clinic, I highly recommend Yaletown Pet Hospital. If I can recommend a "conventional" (as opposed to homeopathic) clinic - it must be good! And they truly are. Trust me, when it comes to Minnie, there is no one pickier or more demanding than me! (and I'm sure the clinic will attest to that - LOL!) BTW - the owner of the clinic, Dr. Rob Spooner is a good man who is a member of CAAT (as is Dr. Vandermeer), and has donated time in several projects with the team, including the Yukon and Botswana this past year. When you book your appointment, tell them Minnie sent you!
I can't say enough good things about Yaletown Pet Hospital. All of the staff are wonderful and SO kind. Truly compassionate for animals. I have been to several different vets and this place I can say is truly the best in the city. Thank you Dr. Archeck and Dr. Spooner for your continued support for our dog. You are a blessing and I could not be more thankful for you and your Pet Hospital.
I can't recommend Yaletown Pet Hospital enough. The reception staff are so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I've seen three different vets here, and found all of them to be super knowledgeable and caring for my anxious dog. On our last visit, the doctor suggested something new we could try to calm my dog's nervousness that I hadn't come across despite lots of research, and it seems to be... more
I've been to quite a few vets as I've moved around a bit since getting my two cats 12 years ago and these guy have been my favorite.
Recently my male cat had a urinary obstruction and they took great care of him. (Please also read my review about VCA Emergency Clinic.) They do a great job of finding the balance between what people can realistically afford and making sure your pet is cared for,...
