Best ambience in a bar
January 31, 2014The lay-out, the decor, the furnishings all speak of comfort, familiarity, absence of pretension. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff consistently helpful and friendly. Great location for meeting friends downtown. Food - well, the pad thai with shrimps is my favourite although the onion soup is also up there.

Like an old comfortable shoe
December 28, 2013This is our favourite hideaway. A great place to meet old and new friends on a cold winter night or on the deck on a sunny afternoon. The food is always good and the service is always friendly.

I am from Halifax and frequent Tom's almost every week.
What's so special about Tom's is that it's tucked away, slightly off the beaten path and because of this, almost completely filled with locals. It's narrow space can only accommodate about 40 people, but it's the coziness of it that makes it so inviting and relaxing.

Tucked away on a small street just off Spring Garden Road, Tom's seems more New Orleans than Nova Scotia.
