Panier is French for basket, not bread. They started off as a gift basket company and then opened a shop. The Ottawa store has closed but the original in Pointe Claire Village (Montreal) is alive and well.
This store isn't up my alley, but I'm aware that it has a number of items that would interest many consumers. I live down past Panier and drive by it almost everyday. I always thought it was a bread store - I mean, isn't pain, French for bread? Okay, so my spelling is off.
