Highly recommend this shop
We are very pleased with the service we have received at Shear Heaven. We’ve been going there for a couple of years with our poodle cross, Reilley. The first time, she didn’t take him quite as short as I wanted. I didn’t know until my husband brought Reilley home, and at first I figured, oh well. But after a couple of days, I decided to phone her up and see if she would cut him shorter, and she couldn’t have been nicer. She made time that same day for me to take Reilley over and did him while I waited, making sure she got it exactly right this time. I asked what the charge would be, and she said no charge, and she even apologized that she hadn’t got the clip the length we wanted the first time! And I must admit that could have been our fault for not being as clear as we could have, since I told her the length I wanted and hubby kept saying “but not too short” (he likes it longer than I do, but he doesn't have to do the brushing!) Anyway, ever since then she’s done the clip just perfect. And just as important, our dog is happy going there and happy coming out.
I do have to comment on the other review. We’ve sure never seen or smelled any feces. All we’ve ever seen on the floor is dog hair, and that’s to be expected. I can’t believe that anyone would leave their dog if there really were feces all over the floor. There’s no excuse in the world that would make me do that. Makes me wonder if the other “review” is by a competitor?
You get what you pay for!
I give this place one star because I have to. Otherwise, I would have given it 1/4 of a star.
Firstly, people who choose to run businesses out of their homes should understand that they have to open up their home to their customers. I stepped into the stair landing just long enough to see the basement floor covered in dog feces! I felt obligated to leave my baby there because I had made an appointment, and therefore, a comittment. All I could think about was thank God he was up to date on all his shots. In my opinion, this place was Parvo virus waiting to happen.
After showing her a picture of exactly how I wanted my dog cut, it was very sloppy. The cut was all uneven and I had to trim down the long spots myself. My baby is a Bichon and she cut his head too short and now he looks like Beetlejuice!
The only thing I could say in her defense is that her rates were very reasonable. I guess it's true when they say you get what you pay for.
