Scotia Tire does NOT support our troops.

Military support personnel put together a publication of businesses willing to offer a discount to the men and women of Canada who work to defend our great nation. Whether the discount is big or small it shows our service people that these businesses care about the sacrifices they can be asked to make at any time.
Scotia Tire is one such company that receives free advertising in this publication, offering a discount of up to 40% off of certain tire brands. I received a price quote for a set of tires and went in to order them, also requesting the 40% military discount price. They stated that I had already received a discount of 40% off the MSRP, as that is their standard selling price for everyone off the street regardless of their affiliations. This means that the price they quoted me is not a discount for anyone whatsoever, as it is in fact just the regular selling price.
Speaking with the manager, he flat out denied to honour their agreement to offer a discount to military members. He also spoke to the owner of Scotia Tire over the phone, who also refused to offer the advertised discount. I pointed out that it clearly states in the details of the discount program that, “To be evaluated as “meaningful” a discount must represent a reduction off the usual selling price, and not a mere discount off the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP).”
All I was requesting was that Scotia Tire honour the agreement they made when they signed on to advertise with the program and offer a discount off of the usual selling price. The owner stated he did not understand that as the terms when he applied for the program, but it is clearly stated and he should have read the details more carefully before committing fraud.
Scotia Tire has been using this free advertising to mislead members of the Canadian Forces. Scotia Tire supports false advertising and does not support our troops. I would think twice before dealing with a company of that caliber.
