This hotel on the west end of downtown is one of Calgary's best deals. The Sandman is conveniently located on the free rapid-transit mall, just west of the main downtown core. The standard rooms are a good size, but the real winners are the very large corner units, which feature small kitchens and great views. We had 3 nights at the hotel, and was pleasantly surprised. The room was nice and clean, we got a corner room so good views from 2 sides. Goos choice of TV channels when we was in at night and the morning. Overall a great place to stay, especially at less that $90 CAD a night!

On our trip to Calgary, we stayed at the Sandman hotel downtown. It was great! Within walking distance of almost everywhere we wanted to go, and when it wasn't, the front desk staff called a cab for us! They even brought up a cot (because there ended up being 5 of us instead of the original 2 staying over) at no cost!

This hotel had a great location that was in walking distance to almost all major attractions. I walked to the center of downtown within a few minutes to all of the local bars so it was a great place to stay at. Since I was mostly looking around the downtown to the NW area of town walking was fine. Also it is directly on the light rail line so you can get anywhere quickly.
