A five-star non smoking hotel in downtown Montreal, Sofitel Montréal is located in the heart of the historic Golden Square Mile.
La terrasse en été est tout simplement adorable ! Autour d'un excellent verre de vin en fin d'après midi... Exquis !
The carpets in the lobby at this exquisite hotel were made by the same company that carpeted Versailles for King Louis XIV, yet the Sofitel remains chic and cheery, with sleek leather sofas and a soaring glass lobby. At the foot of Mont Royal, in the heart of downtown, the 17-floor Sofitel uses its understated elegance, top-notch details, and convenient location to attract a well-heeled... more
Excellent hotel! Would both stay there again in the future as well as recommend to friends.
Well located in Montreal. Courteous staff. Clean and spacious rooms. A+ bathroom.
Has a wireless charger for phones in the room which I thought was a positive touch.
This is a beautiful luxury hotel in Montreal's Golden Mile, conveniently located about 10-15 minutes from the Grand Central train station. My boyfriend and I arrived around 4pm to check-in (check-in starts at 3pm), but they apparently did not have our room ready. Their excuse? They were having hiccups in the system, and sent someone to to check if it was ready. They did of course offer another... more
Just wanted everyone to know that we booked this hotel in December 2017. Unfortunately we had a recent death in the family. Inadvertently my husband who booked this hotel on Expedia had a non refundable rate. I personally called hotel to try to negotiate either reschedule or would they take a minimum charge to cancel my reservation, the hotel reservation manager did not agree to anything other... more
Very disappointing! At check in there was a large group in the lobby, a reunion perhaps that was so loud that we could barely hear to check in. The person checking us in apologized for the loud group but it was still distracting. Don't they have conference rooms for gatherings?
Then we get to our room and it was TINY! We paid extra for a superior room and we could barely walk around the bed and...

I have stayed at this location many times over the past 5 years. I come back because of the location, hotel staff, clean rooms and overall love this place. So here is my most recent experience.

2. Room: Spacious, clean, well presented upon arrival. The only problem I had was...

A fine hotel but definitely not a real 5 stat experience
Rooms were tiny! But the hotel itself was clean, nicely maintained, and the on site bar (Renoir) also very nice but closes early
I arrived in Montreal at 8:30 AM and the Sofitel hotel at 9 AM - well before the designated check in time. Without hesitation, the hotel provided my room at no extra charge. The room was very clean. My only complaint is the bed. It was very soft and during the night, it felt like I started to slide towards the middle of the bed. (But, to each their own.) The hotel is situated in Downtown... more
Not to say that our previous hotel in Québec City wasn't spotless....but it was ni...ce and......diff...erent.
Located in the Golden Mile section, (this side of Ville-Marie, almost looks like NYC's 'Midtown'), Sofitel has a certain crispness, cleanliness, airiness and sophistication. Since we loved Montréal the first time we visited, we wanted to wrap up our 2nd part of our Canada trip, by...

This is my favourite hotel out of the 5 or 6 I've stayed at in Montreal. The service is the best, the beds are the comfiest - the sheets are so soft, the pillows are so fluffy, and the mattress itself feels like a cloud - and everything about it screams luxury.
They no longer seem to offer yoga mats in the rooms unless it's asked for, unfortunately, but it's not a huge deal. Also, I wish...

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Sofitel Montreal. The location is very good: walking distance to the McGill University campus (a nice area for a casual stroll), Mount Royal (a must see), and the Montreal Museum of Arts (another must see). The staff were very polite and professional. The property and rooms were clean and well-maintained. Easy valet parking. Would probably stay there again.... more
From front desk to housekeeping and people that work here in general everyone was so so friendly. They gave us a room at the PH level with a decent view. The room itself however was very very nice and spacious. The bathroom in particular felt nice and fancy. I loved my stay here and would stay at Sofitel if I came back to Montreal or any other location I travel to.
From the moment we pulled into the driveway until the moment we left the hotel, the staff and accommodations at this hotel were amazing. The room was large, clean, and extremely comfortable and the front desk staff and concierge were extremely helpful with any questions we threw at them, whether for directions, reservations, or general conversation. My group of friends stayed here this past weekend. For my friends bachelor party. It was an amazing experience, the front desk and the concierge for always being very very helpful. I love the location of the hotel it was right in the middle of everything. You want a great place to stay with a great staff of people I would definitely recommend to stay here.
Loved this place! One of the best hotel beds I've slept on and lots of pillows. The location is perfect for walking lots of places - up the hill to McGill or Mont Royal or two streets down to Catherine for some really good shopping. There are several great places to eat nearby as well and many others a short Uber trip away. We will def come back!
We booked this hotel through Hotels.com to attend Eric Church concert. It has now been cancelled so we tried to cancel our room. They flat out refused. Not even an offer for a partial refund or a change? I am extremely upset. This was not a cheap room and I wanted to stay out on the West Island to save money. Never again. The Sofitel Montreal is a beautiful 5*hotels well located. The rooms are very cozy and spacious. The restaurant is huge. The scent of the lobby is very unique. We were well received by the concierge team and the front office team and of course the coolest Gm ever: Mr. Pichot. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in town. The service and friendliness of the staff is amazing!
Great hotel in Montreal that is centrally located with a lovely restaurant with outstanding food!
Great location, Rue Peel, Mont Royal and Rue Crescent are all within walking distance as well as major metro stops.
The suites are super spacious, and the concierge very helpful and kind to tourists. Service was quick with valet and with luggage.
Beautiful restaurant located in the lobby, including a full bar that gives you a nice view of downtown.
Be careful of the mini fridge in the rooms....

Amazing hotel in a great location. Just up the street from Peel subway and on the block with all the high end hotels, shops and restaurants. McGill a couple blocks away. The staff was amazing. Hotel was very modern and immaculately clean. The restaurant was fantastic and had great desserts. We had a great west view with very large windows. Would recommend and stay again. Most staff were bilingual.
Lot's of amenities including a bar and restaurant in the lobby, fitness room, and a couple of computers to print your boarding passes or whatever.

Location and service wise - excellent.
The place does need a bit of a face lift, but you really do get quality here.
It isn't cheap, so you're definitely paying for it.
Tip: You can park for half the price around the corner at the Cartier Tower (with no in and out privileges).
It's fine but not for the money. Although they were clean the rooms are small and dated. It's fine in a pinch but I won't be going back as I feel there are other more modern hotels in Montreal for the price they command.
Very nice hotel.Amazing facilities.Best locationI always recommend this hotel to everyone.
For whatever reason, my fiancé always insists on going to Montreál when it's cold AF. Part of it is because it's to celebrate our March anniversary. Except for its central location to shops and restaurants, this Sofitel hotel lacks high-end quality amenities (the king size bed and pillows were overly worn and flat and what I believed to be a "lounging" chair in my "luxury" room are substandard -- the furniture seemed like they were from Ikea) to be charging high end rates.

Had a good stay here. Room was nice and comfortable, though not stupendously large. I like the low-key approach to bed-making: basically, a nice, clean comforter. Found the bed very comfortable.

This hotel is in a good location, rooms are decent and check in and out was smooth. But the staff were stiff and cold. There is nothing special about this place. Did not feel like our business was appreciated.
The rooms are quite nice (for the price) but the service is slipping. The food at the restaurant is overpriced and just ok (except for the croissants, which are delicious).

A very good experience. This is the 3rd time I stay there, and it is always as comfortable and pleasant
Efficient, comfortable and always a reliable address in Montreal. This is not an elegant small hotel but and efficient and comfortable place with a very nice and helpful staff. Within walking distance to many activities which is a must when it's cold out there!
Our stay at the Sofitel was first class from start to finish. We have stayed at other 4-5 star hotels in the past but the Sofitel is beyond a 5 star Hotel. We found the staff was genuinely happy to assist you with any of our needs and made our stay hassle free.
Just walking into the place makes you feel like you've made a great choice. It's a grand entryway and the staff greet you with smiles and "what can we do"s. Hotel was very nice. Staff where great and very helpful. Rooms where well appointed and had all the items you would expect from a 4 star. Location, excellent; cleanliness and comfort, top notch; Staff, beyond astounding! My wife is allergic to goose down bedding, she mentioned it to the bellhop, within 5 minutes of arrival there was a virtual "pit crew" stripping and remaking the bed sans down. Stayed two nights in a DeLuxe room which was relatively large and comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful.

I stayed another two nights in a Superior room which was anything but for two people. The room was tiny, the closet utterly inadequate, no place even to store a suitcase. A Superior room, in my judgment, could only be used comfortably by one person.

Staff was very attentive - I had asked for an extra robe and within 2 minutes of asking, the staff member showed up with a second robe. Room was overall good with the exception of the couch. Couch looked faded and out of place with the rest of the room's decor. We were 16th floor but our view was blocked by another hotel building. My family and I just spent an incredible weekend in Montreal staying in
Sofitel Golden Mile. Overall Montreal is faboulous, but the best part of

I've stayed at this Sofitel on a few different trips to Montreal and it has never disappointed. I highly recommend it.
Sofitel of Montreal is beautiful place to stay in downtown Montreal. Great location, but if you plan to spend a lot of time in old town - it is good 30 min walk. very comfortable and spacious the bath room is expecially goodand big! And we are so luky to get cheapest price through skoosh.
We stayed at the Sofitel Montreal in July 2010. This hotel is very well located, on Sherbrooke which is close to shopping, Crescent Street, Ste Catherine, Musee des Beaux Arts. My wife loves the bed at Sofitel (she's a bed snob and says it's the best bed in the hotel business)!
I loved the Hotel. Great location, extremely nice staff, clean and comfortable. Definitely ask the concierge what to do if it is your first time in Montreal, he was very helpful! The only downside was the price but you pay for this kind of luxury and it's worth it.
Highly recommended, all of the staff was most accomodating...service top notch. Great value thanks to the Skoosh rate, and the location is fantastic...right where you want to be at the base of Mont Royale with excellent shopping and restaurants!
Yes would recommend it. It met our expectations and was reasonably price for the quality we experienced.
Nice hotel in a good location. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Very close to the Eaton Center mall and was a short train ride to Montreal Jazzfest.

From the moment we arrived at Sofitel we received top notch service. The hotel deserves its 5 star rating. Valet service was great although a bit pricey 34 dollars a night. The place is a little pricey for Montreal but still good value for the money
WOnderful hotel! Great location..central to everything in downtown Montreal. We walked everywhere!
Great hotel, no complaints. Free internet access, friendly staff, great location... highly recommend.
Had a great time at this hotel, the staff was awesome, and the room was great as well!
during rush hour it is difficult to get in the front drive. Valet is necessary and $30 plus tax and fees per night, but they were prompt and cooperative, even though the front was sometimes crowded. very enjoyable. The staff were very helpful in every way . From checking, the chocolate they left on the bed, to give us direction and what to see. Highly recommend this hotel.
This place is swank. Beautiful (yet kind of small) rooms, beautiful bathroom with multi-faucet stand up shower (there's one for your feet), large HDTV, very comfortable bed. The Renoir bar has good food but the standouts are the cocktails. If you want to be near Old Montreal this may not be the best place, but it's a quick Metro ride, plus there's all kinds of stuff in the area. Bon marche aussi!
We had unusually bad weather visiting Montreal however our stay at this beautiful hotel made up for it! We were treated so well. Nice hotel, and good location. Resturant and Concierge service was great! A little dissapointed by the lack of jacuzzi tubs in any regular rooms, and the fact that they offer only in-room spa services. Might look into the W next time.
The hotel was beautiful. The staff was great. Great location but with it came the traffic noise. After businesses closed up it was much better. But if you are the "average Joe" on an "average Joe" budget, the hotel restaurant is pricey. Parking also was $30 per day.
The hotel was everything I expected. Its a 4 star, in a perfect location. The staff was very helpful, and the hotel itself was very very nice. Nice big bathrooms, and the room itself was clean. Parking was a little expensive, but thats to be expected for the location. I would return for sure. I found a great fare through kayak, that brought me to skoosh.com. Paid about 135 per night... more
This hotel made our Montreal stay magical. Had a corner room that looked out in two directions on the Golden Mile. Everything was perfect; everything was clean, the staff extremely caring and cooperative, and the rooms quiet and relaxing. Close to McGill University, wonderful restaurants, and the Underground Montreal.
The hotel room was spacious, clean and modern. We travelled with two small children and two strollers. The room had plenty of space to accommodate all of our "gear". Perfect location downtown, minutes away from all main attractions.
We booked it a few months in advance of our trip so the price was good for two people. (make sure you do that bc it goes up in price). The hotel was in a fantastic location, great staff, clean rooms, had all the basics and was very comfortable! would def recommend this.
I would highly recommend this hotel based on my experience. I had forgotten my laptop's powercord at home and within moments of my arrival, was provided one 'on loan' for my four days at the hotel. I received vouchers for free continental breakfasts during my stay (which I don't believe was included in my room rate). In my experience, continental breakfasts are usually quite disappointing.... more

We attended a wedding in Montreal and the bride's father had provided a giftbag for all out of towners at the hotel. Very pretty hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are very sound proof as we didn't hear the family next door yelling at their kid until we stepped outside our door. I assume they didn't hear our baby crying at 2am either! The staff are very friendly and were very helpful.
This is a definitely a first class hotel located in the heart of downtown. I had paid a small extra fee for the luxury room and I am glad that I did because it was so much more comortable than the standard room where my siblings had booked. Very nice room, exceptionally clean. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. My only issue is that there was no gym. The hotel is associated with a gym, but still had to pay (a steep fee) to get in.
Excellent accommodations. Loved everything about the hotel from the reception staff to the impeccably furnished and clean room. The location is the best. My only comment is that the lobby is not quite indicative of the luxury of this hotel. We will definitely be back.
The hotel is lovely and inviting, clean and contemporary. The rooms are sleek; the bedding is exquisite. Floor to ceiling windows give tons of light with great city views. The staff want to please. Listed as one of two "leading hotels in the world 2007" in Montreal; great location for shopping and dining; wonderful service, modern european-like decor; restaurant and fitness facilities available although we did not experience either; you will be very happy with your stay there; highly recommend
hotel was in good shape and room was nice and a good value for the money. however room requested (2 double beds) was unavailable at checkin and front desk insisted that I had booked a room with one king bed (though relented when shown printed confirmation). ended up on a smoking floor, which had an overpowering smell of tobacco.
While the room was small, you know you are in for a treat as soon as you walk in the door and see your bed. The quality of the linens was superb, making for a good night of sleep. The room included other nice touches. For example, the bathroom was well done and a digital thermostat allows you to control the temperature of the room with precision. The coffee maker in the room is very important. IT was a hassle and expensive to order from room service many times a day. The fees added to room service menu prices is very very high.
Sofitel is my favorite Centre Ville Montreal hotel and I've never had a less than superb experience. However, Orbitz' price, plus an affinity club upgrade, made this trip especially memorable. And the doorman chased us into the rain to provide complimentary umbrellas.
Great location, modern decor, super comfortable beds!
“Spacious and well laid out, the room, although not huge, was perfect for a couple. Our bathroom door had no lock and was not a tight seal because of the design so if you are traveling with someone you hardly know, it might get awkward since privacy might be an issue - but this is probably only the case for the king bedroom. Towels could have been fluffier for the level of hotel, but all else... more
“The best part of the room was the comfort of the bed. If you are traveling alone the room is perfect otherwise you better want to spend every moment with your companion!”

“Friendly, clean, efficient, comfortable! Would definitely return!”
“Excellent location and service. Nice rooms with designer amenities. Excellent value. Valet Charge a little higher than normal, but was very efficient. Highly recommend.”
“Love the staff. Like the overall look of the hotel. Rooms were not overly generous in space. Bathrooms were a tight fit. No room for personal effects in there whatsoever. Great place to sleep, but not to spend any time in your room. Don't expect to have a romantic get away and be in that particular space. You will have to be content with seeing Montreal.”
“Great location, close to shopping (both boutique and mall), restaurants, bars, etc. The most helpful staff I have ever encountered and amazing beds!”
The best thing about this Hotel is that it has a very nice boutique. thats open till 9:00pm. The resto cost alot of money and they people did know how to speech in english well.
I was here for two nights due to a conference. The room was very modern and nice amenities: candle, bathrobe, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, bottle of water at turn down. The high speed internet was $15 a night, which was a bit high I thought. The gift shop is very small, look elsewhere for gifts.

This was my first time here and I was pleased with it, It is a few more blocks to walk to St. Catherine St. but i was still happy here. It was very quiet as noise from other people, all the staff is very helpful and care about you.
Unique Quality: They have internet computers in the lobby for guest to use for free, that was a plus to me since most hotels I have stayed at charge a fee.
