From front desk to housekeeping and people that work here in general everyone was so so friendly. They gave us a room at the PH level with a decent view. My group of friends stayed here this past weekend. For my friends bachelor party. It was an amazing experience, the front desk and the concierge for always being very very helpful. Loved this place! One of the best hotel beds I've slept on and lots of pillows. The location is perfect for walking lots of places - up the hill to McGill or Mont Royal or two streets down to Catherine for some really good shopping. Great location, Rue Peel, Mont Royal and Rue Crescent are all within walking distance as well as major metro stops.

Tip: You can park for half the price around the corner at the Cartier Tower (with no in and out privileges).

The location of Sofitel is perfect - everything is always impeccable. Room service is great - pricey but typical of most good hotels. Always prefer to stay at Sofitel whenver I'm in Montreal.

We arrived at 8.30 PM well past the check in time and our room was not ready for another 40 minutes. But they offered free drinks at the bar while the room was being prepared.

This is a typical business hotel. Nothing to rave about but nothing against it. The crowd is extremely business looking and the staff in the lobby a little intimidating (there are a lot of them!).

The beds are the most comfortable beds ever! One of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. I also loved all the bath and body products which are from Lanvin. I would definitely stay at any Sofitel hotel again.

Fantastic Hotel - Highly Recommended

The hotel was very nice and luxurious as described and reviewed previously. However, we were told there was a luxury upgrade for $30, and as it was New Years Eve, we took them up on it. The upgrade was mediocre and included a tub and separate stand up shower. From the valet who took care of our care, to the Renoir restaurant, we had absolutely no complaints. Without hesitation, I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in the Montreal downtown.

ridiculously expensive

my husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and it was extremely expensive. They charged 2.00 per phone call, 35.00 day for parking. All totalled, it was 140.00 night just for taxes and parking! For 500.00 per night we could have stayed in lovely old Montreal. It would have been cheaper and would have included breakfast.

My three day stay at the Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile was excellent. Their service was top notch and the accommodations were excellent. I highly recommend this establishment for hotel and conference services.

For an average joe as myself, this hotel felt very luxurious. The rooms were all neat, clean and tidy. The hotel staff were all friendly and courteous. The food and drinks were delicious. From my standard room I had a really nice view of Mount Royale. Highly recommended.

We stayed at the Sofitel Montreal in July 2010. This hotel is very well located, on Sherbrooke which is close to shopping, Crescent Street, Ste Catherine, Musee des Beaux Arts. My wife loves the bed at Sofitel (she's a bed snob and says it's the best bed in the hotel business)!

I loved the Hotel. Great location, extremely nice staff, clean and comfortable. Definitely ask the concierge what to do if it is your first time in Montreal, he was very helpful! The only downside was the price but you pay for this kind of luxury and it's worth it.

the beds were very uncomfortable and need new mattresses. Plus the shower backed up when I first took a shower but when I called housekeeping they sent someone up immediately. I am not one to nitpick but if your hotel has a 5 star rating - I don't even expect to encounter this.

I was disappointed that the Hotel had no vending machines or gift shop. The sodas had to be ordered through room service at $5 each plus taxes and gratuity. The room was named a Luxury room but was very small. I would not recommend this Hotel.

The Sofitel - a gem

This hotel made our Montreal stay magical. Had a corner room that looked out in two directions on the Golden Mile. Everything was perfect; everything was clean, the staff extremely caring and cooperative, and the rooms quiet and relaxing. Close to McGill University, wonderful restaurants, and the Underground Montreal.

The hotel room was spacious, clean and modern. We travelled with two small children and two strollers. The room had plenty of space to accommodate all of our "gear". Perfect location downtown, minutes away from all main attractions.

I would highly recommend this hotel based on my experience. I had forgotten my laptop's powercord at home and within moments of my arrival, was provided one 'on loan' for my four days at the hotel. Very pretty hotel in an excellent location. The rooms are very sound proof as we didn't hear the family next door yelling at their kid until we stepped outside our door. I assume they didn't hear our baby crying at 2am either! The staff are very friendly and were very helpful.

The location was perfect, being only 1 block from the subway stop. Also, there were a large number of restaurants and shops nearby. The concierges were very helpful and there were no questions that they could not answer.

Listed as one of two "leading hotels in the world 2007" in Montreal; great location for shopping and dining; wonderful service, modern european-like decor; restaurant and fitness facilities available although we did not experience either; you will be very happy with your stay there; highly recommend

good location, friendly service

hotel was in good shape and room was nice and a good value for the money. however room requested (2 double beds) was unavailable at checkin and front desk insisted that I had booked a room with one king bed (though relented when shown printed confirmation). ended up on a smoking floor, which had an overpowering smell of tobacco.

Nice Touches

While the room was small, you know you are in for a treat as soon as you walk in the door and see your bed. The quality of the linens was superb, making for a good night of sleep. The room missing coeffee maker

The coffee maker in the room is very important. IT was a hassle and expensive to order from room service many times a day. The fees added to room service menu prices is very very high.

Best Hotel Centre Ville!

Sofitel is my favorite Centre Ville Montreal hotel and I've never had a less than superb experience. However, Orbitz' price, plus an affinity club upgrade, made this trip especially memorable. And the doorman chased us into the rain to provide complimentary umbrellas.

The best thing about this Hotel is that it has a very nice boutique. thats open till 9:00pm. The resto cost alot of money and they people did know how to speech in english well.

I was here for two nights due to a conference. The room was very modern and nice amenities: candle, bathrobe, shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, lotion, bottle of water at turn down. The high speed internet was $15 a night, which was a bit high I thought. The gift shop is very small, look elsewhere for gifts.

Great Hotel, good location

This Sofitel had comfortable rooms, interesting decor, and a great restaurant and bar. It is in a great location too. It's walking distace from museums, good food, several banks nearby.

This was my first time here and I was pleased with it, It is a few more blocks to walk to St. Catherine St. but i was still happy here. It was very quiet as noise from other people, all the staff is very helpful and care about you.

Unique Quality: They have internet computers in the lobby for guest to use for free, that was a plus to me since most hotels I have stayed at charge a fee.

I love this place

What I liked ? Everything ! Cant find one bad thing to say about this place.... The location is perfect, the hotel is beautiful, the beds heavenly, and most of all the staff is great. The concierges there are superb ! They helped me plan my entire stay...never had such profesional and friendly service. Cant wait to go back.

This is by far the most wonderful hotel in Montreal!! The rooms are large and the service is beyond compare.
