Great location, wonderful staff

I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It has a great location, close to all the restaurants. Very nice, accommodating staff. Breakfast was pretty basic, but sufficient, and the afternoon tea (with cheese, cookies, crackers) was a nice touch. Rooms were very warm (it was cold outside). I would stay there again.

This is a quaint hotel right in Ottawa's byward market. Very friendly staff and great breakfast included. There is also a complimentary snacky thing in the afternoon. Room was very comfortable with a mini fridge and microwave. Reception is friendly.

Good location for walking everywhere and wonderful breakfasts but our room did not have a comfortable chair to sit in, our window the air conditioner was in was held together with packing tape, we could not open the window and the door to balcony had no screen so we had no fresh air. Loved our stay, continental breakfast was above and beyond a typical continental. Clean wood floors, steps from Byward Market. Under 1km to parliament hill. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

This is a boutique hotel, it is ok but you can hear people door close and when they walk down the hall. I would go back because of the area.

For the price the hotel is good. Parking is a concern. I had to park in the public lot due to being an early evening arrival. Others were able to secure parking before me. Public parking was close and reasonable but no in/out privileges plus the loss of security feeling. Location is excellent for restaurants and museums. Breakfast was good. The room was smallish.

Great Stay

Wonderful little hotel in the Byward Market area, easy walking to everything in downtown Ottawa. Hot breakfast included and having our own little balcony was wonderful for relaxing. Perfect for our stay. The room included a cute kitchenette with wonderful supplies.

Like most places in Ottawa it was overpriced and in need of some renovations, or at least a touch of paint. The bathroom looked like it was last done in 1990. Good location, but lacking overall. I would say it was a 2.5 star hotel.

Bedbugs. Enough said. Don't stay here.... We checked our bed as soon as we got there and found 3-5 bedbugs right away and evidence of more. There are nicer, cleaner places to stay. Trust me, a little extra money is worth the peace of mind.

Sunny Byward Blue.

I spent four days at the Byward Blue with my 13 year old son. The hotel is friendly, clean, accommodating and brilliantly well located.

Decent place for the price and the location - B/C it is booked through third party they take a $150 deposit payment at the beginning of your stay, would have been nice to have a heads up on that one. Clean place but a tad antiquated - still works off keys instead of keycards.

This is a comfortable and quiet small hotel which is well located close to the restaurants in the Byward Market area and close to downtown Ottawa. The staff are friendly and the hotel has a homey atmosphere with a complimentary tea served in the lobby in the afternoons for guests. This hotel is blessed with a great location and very friendly staff. They provide breakfast AND an afternoon snack. The rooms were very plain and reminded me of a room in residence at university, but the bed was pretty comfortable and that's what counts - I wasn't spending much time there except to sleep anyway.

My husband and I stayed here on a visit to our son who is a student at Ottawa U. We were 10 minutes from his apartment and within walking distance of the campus. A little surprised that it was considered 3 stars...but very clean and helpful staff. Duvet on bed had clearly been washed improperly and all the sections were in hard clumps - was promptly brought an additional blanket after asking. Hot breakfast of eggs and ham this morning. For the price, I rate this 5-star cost-effective. The rooms are very comfortable, well-stocked, and spic and span. The hotel staff were helpful and friendly. Parking is extra but is almost next door. Having wifi is always a plus and this was free and easy to access.

The only thing that is good about this place is the location....its dirty, smelly, and the breakfast sucked....i actually got into trouble from a staff by reaching into the little fridge for a yoguart...we stayed 4 nights...the room was tiny and the layers of dust told me it hadn't been cleaned in a long time. stay away from this place.

Good Hotel arrived late and night clerk was not at front desk waited 15 minutes to get in hotel locked. The room were dated very small TV beds were comfortable. hardwood floors were different clean rooms. the parking in the hotel garage was limited to 8 spots and very narrow scrapped the passangers side of car scrapped car if you have a big vehicle park next door.

Lovely Hotel

This is an older hotel that has been renovated. The rooms were clean, quiet and very roomy. From the balcony you could look at Parliment Hill. The only drawback was the location. One side of the street was a neighborhood where you would not walk at nite. There were homeless people sleeping under a tree across the street.

very nice stay.The breakfast buffet (no extra cost) is really nice. Includes Egg, Yogurt, Bread, Bagels and on Sundays tasty croissants.it was clean, quiet. it's not a 4 star hotel (e.g. don't expect a 30" TV) but it is a very good deal for what you pay.
