For "traditionally flavoured" Indian fare in a "casual" setting, fans "often visit" this "accessible" chainlet attended by servers who are "fast but not pushy"; naysayers who deem it "ordinary" are outnumbered by those insisting "the quality is good", so it's an overall "reliable" choice.
Host has an average collection of both South and North Indian dishes. I found the south Indian dishes better than the north Indian ones this time. Loved the appetizers, paani puri, bhel puri, aloo tikkis etc. Liked the Medu Vadas as well. Thought they were playing it safe with the spice levels
We ate numerous times at The Host prior to the recent renovation, but not in the last two or three years. We liked it, but I guess we found other restaurants that left a bigger impression. This place is not the same as it used to be before renovations. Their prices have gone really UP and the quality & portion size has gone DOWN considerably. The food tasted very bland. The butter nans were all mushy and soggy.
