We ate here a couple of weeks ago and it was an excellent experience all around. The food was great and the atmosphere was just what we were after!
Me and my wife went here last night - early reservation for 6pm...they had no record of our reservation which may have been a problem if we hadn't arrived before the place got crowded. That was the only fault with the place.
The restaurant was awesome - looks amazing from the bar right on into the dining rooms. We started off with a few drinks from the bar. I was suprised at no choices on tap but they had anything you wanted in a can or bottle - I went with a Guinness and wife had a couple of Caesars. She likes them extra spicy and she said it was the best she has ever ordered. I had seafood chowder and wife had the butternut squash soup with partridge berry coulis....both were great starters. For her entree, wife had almond-crusted pork tenderloin on a mushroom risotto and I had the 8oz strip (rare) with roasted potatoes and asparagus - and of course a glass of red! This was probably the best steak I have ever ordered in a restaurant - far above the Keg steak I ordered about a week or so ago (and reviewed on Weblocal). Dessert proved to be equally as good with wife ordering the Creme Brulee and myself choosing the warm partridge berry and orange bread pudding with caramel sauce. Total for two of us before tip was $144.
This place is definitely now my new favorite spot. I hope it isn`t too long before going back.
It was everything we expected. The food was great, service super, and atmosphere fantastic. We would highly recommend to our friends and family. Keep it up..."we'll be back".
Small group arrived and immediately ordered burgers, fries and fish tacos).
Order took over an hour.
Asked waitress three times why the delay and was informed that the delay was because someone ordered an appetizer.
Food was basic, service ordinary (just refused water no feedback or extra bread etc.) and paid over $100 for essentially sitting down and having fast food delivered VERY VERY...

Stopped in for a beer and snack with my wife while walking downtown St John's. Nice staff, good Quidi Vidi selection in bottles. Had the truffle fries and aioli. The ketchup was house made and supper tasty as well. Highly recommend it.
Newfoundland landmark, personally though I don't enjoy it.
