Fid is consistently rated as one of the best restaurants in Halifax, and for good reason. The chef uses fresh, local ingredients whenever possible, and their meals are slightly out of the ordinary, but not enough to turn picky eaters off.
Their lunch is very affordable ($8-12 mostly), and they put as much effort into those inexpensive meals as they do their dinner entrees.
Fid is a fantastic place and I hope to return again and again.

When we heard Fid was closing May 19, 2013, we thought we should give it a last visit. UNfortunately we think the staff's interests are already elsewhere. Excellent chef. Food always great - wonderful combinations. Wait staff can be a little snooty and cold. Don't really make you feel special. We went often anyway - for the delicious food.
Fid is simply outstanding in presenting the best locally sourced ingredients in the most elegant and enticing combinations. In my view, the best restaurant in Halifax.
