Felt Unwelcome
My fiance and I had an appointment to meet with their wedding coordinator. From the moment I walked in I felt a cold reception. I was told to bring pictures of what i liked for inspiration. I'm not a flower dummy I knew what flowers I wanted and the feel I wanted. Cream garden roses, dusty miller, succulents etc. I wanted a romantic feel with lots of texture. My colours are celery green and aqua. The dusty miller and succulents were supposed to reflect my colours. By the end of the consult all my ideas were shot down ( I was told garden roses were terrible this year, other florists told me its only the peach ones). By the end of the appointment she convinced me that carnations, roses and alstroemeria were my best choices. When I said that I was unhappy that they were cheap everyday flowers she gave me no other suggestions that met my vision, and only brought out her choices and said "whats wrong with this?". My fiances choices for boutnnieres ended up being one rose, or mini carnations.
Maybe its an assumption, it just felt that by coming in without makeup on and a simple t-shirt and jeans I was looked down upon and judged that i didn't have enough money to have want I wanted. It was a very disappointing experience. Needless to say I am working with someone else and it's been a wonderful experience thus far.
Interestingly enough my wedding officiant said every bride she's worked with has had a similar experience there.
Poor value for the money
I ordered flowers (simple cut flowers in a vase) for a friend's 50th bithday. I live in Vancouver but I Skyped with her after the delivery so I got to see them. I paid $60 + tax + $10 delivery. They were pretty but I was really surprised how small the arrangement was. If you bought cut flowers in Vancouver and spent $60 the arrangement would be very large!! So I emailed the store and they didn't even get back to me! Guess they don't need my business, because they certainly won't get it again!! Anyone have other suggestions for in Kelowna?
Mother's Day Flowers Left In The Sun
My mom's flowers were left on the doorstep for close to 2 hours before they were discovered, by this time they were burnt from the sun. I phoned the shop, and was told that someone would contact me the following week, never got a call. My mom phoned 3 weeks later, and was more or less called a liar saying we never leave our deliveries on the doorstep. I am the daughter, so I phoned and spoke to Edithe, she just didn't seem to get it, didn't seem to get the point, and continually made excuses. This is the second time I have got flowers from Mom and Me, and they are not as expected, and very high priced. My mom had a stroke, Edithe knew this, and played a big game. Shame, shame on Mom and Me flowers, for how you treated my mom on her special day, and for your total lack of consideration, and courtesy. There is no customer service from this business.
