It's hard to get things done when you have to be to work at 8 and most places don't open at 8; however, I needed a new windshield wiper installed. Went to the Service Dept at Cdn Tire on Smythe St around 7:35 in case someone was there who could help me.
There were a few guys standing around. One guy who's worked there a long time told me to come back at 8. Another guy stepped in and asked what the problem was. I explained and he kindly found a wiper for me, rang it in, and went right out and installed it. I had a much better day and was grateful for his service. It only took him 5 minutes.
I have a love / hate relationship relationship with Canadian Tire. I really like a lot of their household products and have them throughout my home and the Debbie Travis Christmas decorations are great but I have yet to find a competent staff member here and usually leave frustrated. Whether it be exhausted looking employees who look bothered when you ask them for help or others who keep passing you onto other staff so you're not their problem. Better staffing would make ALL the difference here because the products are good and the store is fairly neat and organized.
