An oasis in the heart of the city, the Montréal Biodôme recreates some of the most beautiful ecosystems of the Americas: -the lush and humid Tropical Rainforest, warm even in the depths of a Montréal winter; -the Laurentian Maple Forest, changing with the seasons; -the Gulf of St. Lawrence; -and the Subpolar Regions of the Americas: Labrador Coast and Sub-Antarctic Islands.The Biodôme, whose... more

A terrifically engaging attraction for children of nearly any age, the delightful Biodôme houses replications of four ecosystems: a tropical rainforest, a Laurentian forest, the St. Lawrence marine system, and a polar environment. Visitors walk through each and hear the animals, smell the flora, and (except in the polar region, which is behind glass) feel the changes in temperature. The... more

If you love animals, you will love the Biodôme.
I've visited here several times already but it doesn't get boring.
Looking forward to an expansion of the place soon!!

My favourite highlights:
* the otters
* the beavers at the beaver dam
* the penguins! Always my favourite - look for the ones that tries to swim against the current in the waters; it looks as if they're dancing the salsa haha.

Visit the Biodome! I found it to be a nice "zoo", but I would call it more of a natural science museum mixed with a zoo. The biodome is split into four different ecosystems with all the animals and educate the population about different animals in ecosystems. From rain forest, to tundra, it's pretty fun. It is small though, so you could enjoy it in an hour and a half.

Make your trip to the Biodome worthwhile by opting to do the combo package with the Planetarium and the Insectarium with garden tour. Also, I noticed the long lines in buying tickets, so buy your tickets ahead of time...online, and just show your printed scanner or on your phone when going in.

Everything is done indoors, so need to worry about rain, being cold, etc.

My favorite exhibit are... more

Travel baggage-free at the Montreal Space for Life. Embark on an immersive, sensory journey through the ecosystems of the Americas at the Biodome. Listen to the sounds of the tropical rainforest, go in search of lynx in the Laurentian maple forest, dive into the heart of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and give a wink and a nod to the penguins in the sub-polar regions. Listen as our nature... more

Montreal Biodôme is a science center and ecological zoo that is home to four distinct ecosystems: a lush Tropical Forest, the temperate Laurentian Forest, the St. Lawrence Marine Ecozystem and the Polar worlds of the Arctic and Antarctic. Plenty of interpretative panels and staff are on hand to help visitors on self-guided tour. The Environment Place amphitheater presents films, performances... more
