Unqualifed and Unsatisfactory Work
This landscaping company entered into a contract with us to construct two retaining walls and a patio with steps leading down to the patio on a sloping property backing onto a large retention pond. The work was completed in June 2008. In August of 2009 the structure started to fail. This was just after the "warranty" period of one year as set out on their website was over. We have now been advised that this wall was very poorly engineered, with no footings used and no provision made for water drainage behind the walls, which we are now aware is an absolute must for this type of construction. The steps that were constructed of large slabs of slate have failed completely and are unstable and dangerous. The whole structure is falling apart and in less than 2 years we are faced with a huge expense to try to repair this disaster. it adds insult to injury to see a picture of our wall (#11 in their walls gallery) that was taken just after it was finished in 2008 displayed on their website as an example to promote their work. Granted, it did look great and we were thrilled, but it didn't last long. The motto on the website is "if you can imagine it we can build it" and our dream is now a nightmare of worry and great expense. Buyer Beware of this company.
Very unsatisfactory!
These are the some of the problems I encountered with this landscaping company: Work he was contracted to do and paid for he did not complete. Graded the land so water drained towards the house. Refused to honor the warranty on trees he planted that died within the warranty period. Even though he had a survey of the property and was to keep the landscaping on the property it encroached onto neighbours property and city property. He would not correct the situation. He also left excess dirt on city property and would not remove it even though the city issued a work order to me to do so. Others had to be hired to remove it at my expense Did not abide by original estimate and tried to charge for extras not even wanted. Quality was poor, and most of had to be redone anyway by another landscaping company. Makes lots of promise that werent kept.
