Avoid doing business with this company!

Until now, I have NEVER been disappointed or angry enough to bother posting a review about anything. My only motivation at this point is to warn other potential consumers to AVOID this company and its products. Amichi failed our project at all levels. The design process took an inordinate amount of time and in the end, most of the drawing s were inaccurate. The actual product in most cases was not even built according to the drawings. We ordered approximately $100,000 worth of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry and closets for a new home. We placed the order in November/December 2010 and NONE of the pieces are complete yet (it is now August 2011)! The products that have been delivered have had significant defects - cabinets built to the wrong dimensions, damaged finishes, poor quality finishes (thin paint or obvious runs in the finish). Two of our bathroom vanities were "floating" - one of them detached from the wall after the particle board backing tore away. It landed on the floor and is now being held up by some sawed-off studs! We have small children and I have asked Amichi to properly secure the vanities - that was almost a month ago and it is still not done. The installation has been abysmal. We have had installation dates set many times only to find that the dates were completely ignored. When installation finally occurred, the workmanship was shoddy, pieces were damaged or installed incorrectly, and EVERY DAY a HUGE mess was left - debris, dust, etc. It took Amichi over a week just to install 2 small children's closets that I could have done myself in about a day. Even now there remains deficiencies with those closets.

I would be willing to accept some of these problems if we had purchased cheap products but what bothers me in particular is that we paid for moderately high-end cabinetry. We have had other workers and cabinet makers do projects on this same house and they literally snicker or shake their heads when they see the workmanship involved in our Amichi products and installation. You could pay far less and receive a much better product with more reliable installation, even from Ikea.
